How it works
Formats, languages, and limits.
Everything you'd want to know before uploading your first book.
Book languages
Built for Italian, for now.
Upload an Italian book and Litdeck reads it cover to cover, building a per-chapter inventory of its vocabulary. The language is detected for you the moment the file is staged.
- Every word traced back to the chapter it came from.
- More reading languages are on the way.
« C'era una volta un pezzo di legno nella bottega di un vecchio falegname. »
Translation languages
Translate your cards into English or French.
When you generate a deck you choose the language its sentences and translations appear in. English and French are supported at launch, with more languages coming.
« C'era una volta un pezzo di legno. »
Once upon a time there was a piece of wood.
Il était une fois un morceau de bois.
Uploading a book
EPUB files, up to 10 megabytes.
Litdeck reads EPUB files only. PDF, MOBI, and other formats are not supported. Most EPUB files from digital stores are well under the size limit.
Limits
Up to 3,500 words per deck.
Each deck covers up to 3,500 words. Longer books can be split across several decks by composing with different chapter selections. Account limits are higher during the full release.

Pricing
Analysis is free. You pay only for decks.
Uploading a book and analyzing its vocabulary costs nothing. When you generate a deck, you pay only for the cards that are actually made.
- A short chapter selection typically costs a few cents. A full novel may cost a few dollars.
- You see the cost estimate before you commit, usually expressed as about ten cents.
- If a chapter cannot be set, you are not charged for it.
- There is nothing to subscribe to. A deck you download is yours to study forever.
